# Events

> Turn individual misery features on or off in your server.

## How events work

Events are individual misery behaviors — auto responders, snipe, link reposting, and so on. By default they run everywhere. If a feature doesn't fit a particular channel, you can switch it off there without affecting the rest of your server.

> [!NOTE]
>
> All event commands require the **Manage Server** permission.

## Disabling an event

Point it at a channel and name the event you want silenced there.

```javascript Syntax theme={null}
,event disable (channel) (event)
```

```javascript Example theme={null}
,event disable #general snipe
```

### Across every channel

Use `all` instead of a channel to shut an event off server-wide.

```javascript Syntax theme={null}
,event disable all (event)
```

```javascript Example theme={null}
,event disable all snipe
```

> [!TIP]
>
> After `,event disable all`, you can still switch it back on in a single channel with `,event enable #channel (event)`.

### Reviewing what's off

Run `,event list` for a breakdown of every event currently disabled and where.

### Clearing everything

`,event reset` wipes all your disabled-event entries at once, putting every feature back in play.

## Re-enabling an event

Undo a single channel's restriction:

```javascript Syntax theme={null}
,event enable (channel) (event)
```

```javascript Example theme={null}
,event enable #general snipe
```

Or lift it everywhere at once:

```javascript Syntax theme={null}
,event enable all (event)
```

```javascript Example theme={null}
,event enable all snipe
```

## Event reference

### Bot responses

| Event | What it controls |
| - | - |
| `afk` | Away notices shown when someone pings an AFK member |
| `autoresponder` | Your configured automatic replies |
| `commandfailure` | Error messages when a command doesn't go through |
| `snipe` | Recovery of recently deleted messages |

### Reaction triggers

| Event | What it controls |
| - | - |
| `reactiontrigger` | Automatic reactions on messages matching your triggers |
| `previousreaction` | Previous-message reaction triggers |

### Link reposting

| Event | What it controls |
| - | - |
| `instagram` | Reposting Instagram content from member-posted links |
| `tiktok` | Reposting TikTok content from member-posted links |
| `twitter` | Reposting Twitter/X content from member-posted links |

> [!TIP]
>
> Reposting is the most common thing servers scope down — leaving it on in a media channel while disabling it elsewhere keeps chat readable.

## Disabling commands

Commands work the same way, and can also be switched off for a single member:

```javascript Syntax theme={null}
,command disable (channel or member) (command)
```

```javascript Example theme={null}
,command disable #general ban
,command disable all fyp
```

`,command enable`, `,command list`, and `,command reset` mirror the event commands above. The server owner and Administrators can still use disabled commands.
